"A friend loves at all times." (Prov. 17:17)
If you want to know who your real friends are, go after your dreams and you'll find out.
It's sort of funny we often think the opposite. A true friend is someone who stands by you in the tough times. Yet it's those big things in life that show who your friends really are.
A true friend wants the best for you. They want you to achieve your dreams and help you along the way. Anyone can call themselves a friend, but it's in the hard times that a person reveals their true character.
Often when pursuing a dream, our so-called "friends" become our biggest critics. Their jealousy and envy come to the surface the minute you share your God-given dream. It is much easier for them to list reasons why you shouldn't, rather than why you should. Life is too short to be surrounded by scoffers. A friend of mine and fellow elder at my home church, Paul Lewis, often says,
"Friends find friends,
friends guide friends,
who's your friend?"
There are barriers that stand between each of us and our dreams. Take a look around. Who is standing with you with a hammer to knock those barriers down? That's the person who is a true friend. They are not only cheering you on, they are in the game with you. It's good to surround yourself with people that add value to your life. In turn, do the same because a true friend loves at all times.
Who's your friend?
Thank you so much for being our Faithful Friends and supporting us while we pursue our dreams at Gil's HIlls and don't forget, God loves you and we do too!
