Greetings from between the snow covered hills! It's only February, and winter seems like it should have come and gone by now. It is certainly welcome to. But even in the cold and snow, we have been able to do some exciting things during our winter clubs with the Gil's Hills kids. We had 19 boys up for our Boys Winter Blast in January, and we were able to enjoy games in the warm Ark and a snowball fight/capture the flag in the snow. We even took the opportunity to take a bunch of the girls sledding on one of our Tuesday club nights. We had the Girls Winter Blast scheduled for February 20 & 21, but due to some of the negative temperatures we have been getting, we rescheduled it for March 20 &21. All this to say, we might be looking forward to spring, but we are making the best of our winter here between the hills.
God is continually showing His kindness toward us by providing loving volunteers and donors. From our special events to our club nights, God has brought in volunteers who have been excited about the ministry here at Gil's Hills. We would like to thank them for their continued help and servant's heart. If you or someone you know would like to check out Gil's Hills and consider helping out on a club night, a special retreat, or even this year's summer retreats, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information. There are many volunteer opportunities this summer as we are preparing four weeks of retreats for the Gil's Hills kids.
I would like to personally thank everyone who has prayed for us and the ministry here at Gil's Hills. We couldn't do it without your prayers & support.
Greetings from my new part-time home between the hills at Gil's Hills.
I am excited to be joining the team of people who lead and minister here in Wellsville and much of Allegany County. One month in, and I can already see that God is at work. While I am still getting acquainted with the ministry and the work to be done here, I am excited to see how God will use me in the lives of the kids and staff. God has made the transition here rather smooth thus far.
Though I have not, in the past, been very active here at Gil's Hills, I have known Ken and Linda and even many of the board members for some time. Currently I am serving as the Worship Leader at Obi Community Church, and working part-time for a local politician two days a week in Olean, NY. Though my schedule is busy, I look forward to the work to be done here at Gil's Hills.
Your prayers and support are always appreciated and needed, especially as we head into our summer program. I trust that God is preparing me for all that He has planned for us, not only during the summer months, but for the school year ahead as well. I am excited about the months ahead, and I trust you are too!
Again, thank you so much for your prayers and support. I look forward to getting to know you all through the ministry that God is doing here at Gil's Hills and feel honored to be doing His work for the Kingdom.
